Sneaking in was simple enough, as usual. The security in the manor was trash, even after repeated threats of 'tightening.' Ridiculous. But it made the task at hand a great deal easier. Jun surveyed the area carefully, sneaking through the halls easily before finding himself in the storage room he was seeking. Time for a little grocery shopping. And maybe a few extra things, for his trouble of course.
Surely nothing could go awry at this point. =P

A light jingling from behind one of the storage shelves; the sound of a bag of coins being tossed about carefully. A petite girl with slinky hair peeked around the corner, smirking wickedly. She knew who this was.
"What are you doing here? Looking for this~?" she sang, bouncing the pouch of gold he was most likely looking for between her hands. "I don't think your father would appreciate this~"

"My old man can eat a dick." He responded bluntly. Every. Damn. Time.
The gold wasn't all he had come for, clearly, as he'd already stuffed a bag full of other valuables and some worthwhile foodstuffs, things that he would last him a while. Even so, her presence and her intent to hinder him was agitating.
"Do you really have to do this every time? Why not just stop me, or move the stuff if you want to keep it from me?"

"Because that would just ruin this whole wonderful dynamic we have going on, and I can't risk that~" she replied, dancing around behind him to look over his shoulder with a playful pout. "You've gotta be kidding though. Just scrounging for the basics now? You're that poor? That's so sad. Betchu wish your daddy would take you back right about now, huh, Jun-Jing?"
And who wouldn't want to live in the Mizukage's care? The girl seemed well-dressed and groomed compared to the boy's shabby appearance, having been living in the Kage manor in Jun's stead for the past year or so. No one could really place why, considering that she wasn't related to the Kazuya in an discernible way.

"I don't need his sympathy. I can get what I need one way or another." He sneered at her, his emotions, as usual, relayed mostly in his animated face thanks to the cover on his eyes. Of course, he knew the story behind their little 'swap', but it wasn't business that everyone needed to know.
"Besides, I'll have all the time I want in the manor once I kick his ass off the throne." His sneer turned cocky. "Where do you think that'll leave you?"

"Same place as before: rich and beloved. Duhhh." She smiled deviously, pressing the bag of coins into his hands before flicking her silky hair out of her lavendery eyes. Should the day he was ever successful in overthrowing their leader come, she'd transition very easily from Kazuya's lap to Jun's; it was what she was here for after all. "I'm your only friend after all. You wouldn't drop me~"

"You keep telling yourself that. You better watch yourself, playing both sides like that." He took the bag with a mild scoff, stuffing it into his own bag. He was practically done at this point, so he took a moment to give her the glare that occurred during most of their encounters. "I won't let you play me that way. Don't forget it."
He always had to be on guard with her. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

"I don't understand why you always think I'm playing you or anyone. I'm always so nice to you~" She pouted in feigned injury, crossing her arms over her silky robes. Such a distrustful boy. "Why can't you just trust me~? Are you still jealous that your father chose having me around over taking you in? Is it abandonment issues? I won't abandon you, Jun-Jing~"

"I don't give a shit about that. You can play it like that all you want, but I know you've always got something up your sleeve." He adjusted his bag, preparing to make his escape. This whole process was so typical now, her appearance included. Granted, he expected her to sell him out every time he came through, but considering how smoothly the process typically went, perhaps she was almost as trustworthy as she wanted him to believe.
"I'm sure you'll be glad to stick around wherever the riches are flowing, right?" Yeah. Very little trust there. You have to be careful in these positions.

"Doesn't everyone?" Seul-ki grinned her little shark-toothed sneer, sauntering past him to the doorway. Still being young, it wasn't as though her whole life revolved around money and selling her services to the highest bidder; she knew it would be significant one day though, especially with her talents and her precarious position as a foreigner in the village. "I think you just need to get to know me better, Jun-Jing. I'm really quite generous."
She leaned against the door frame, looking somewhat thoughtful. The sounds of the guards clamoring down the halls was drifting their way now, warning that Jun's presence had been noticed.
"Hmmm~~?"

"Maybe...I guess I'll have to keep that in mind." His glare was still harsh, but perhaps not what it typically was. After all, she was somewhat less unpleasant to deal with than most other people. Usually. Sometimes.
Hearing the shuffle of ineptitude, Jun took his leave easily, leaving the girl to explain herself to them however she intended. In the back of his mind, he expected her to sell him out but even so, in a village like this, what surprise is that.
"Tell the old man to keep the throne warm for me, hm?" He called back, already a distance below the floor and into the winding crawlspaces.

"Can do~" She waved him off, slumping a bit against the door frame. The guards came and she pointed them down the hall, watching them go with a slight sneer. Jun was somewhat correct; people afforded her way too much trust. Perhaps it was prudent of him not to fall to her wiles so easily. She could tell she was starting to get to him though. She still had a long way to go if she was to do what she needed with him.

Flash forward an indeterminate amount of time.
Finally having earned some respect and recognition, it seemed he was moving up from being a common thief to an established ninja. Of course, there had been some confusion, and Jun's initial assumption when the council members came and knocked on his door, was that he was finally being raided; a lengthy tussle and a few injured shinobi later, word had been properly relayed, and his scrap of fabric had been replaced with an official headband. It was a start, at least, on his path to glory.
But now, he had been left to sit idly outside the academy he'd never attended, waiting for team mates and a sensei to appear. Already, this sounded like a bigger pain in the ass than he had figured. If only he knew what was in store...

"You one of my team mates?" A sharp voice questioned from behind, approaching from the direction of the academy. The boy stopped a few feet away, seeming to size up Jun's scraggly physique with his narrow eyes before offering a half-smile. "Figures I'd be settled with the abnormals. You ain't never been to school, have you? I'm Sekkai Hyoushou."
He didn't offer a hand to shake or anything, still seeming to be studying the redhead with those smoldering eyes. Hyoushou stood about a head taller, with burnt orange hair that spiked every which way wildly and tattoos under his eyes; his body was more toned and set, having spent his time training rather than running around stealing his whole life. A short sword dangled from his belt on his right side, telling that he was left-handed.
"I guess you must be able to hold your own if the council decided to just promote you like that."

"I can do plenty more than hold my own." The shorter boy retorted, sizing him up as well with his obscured, but critical eyes. "I guess you must be capable, if they thought it was a good idea to team you with me." He trailed off, apparently talking to himself more so than the other boy. He didn't look outstandingly impressive, but there was a certain look in his eyes. Maybe this would be interesting.
"Jun-Sai. Just call me Jun." He added in an afterthought, already scoping for the following team mate that was no doubt on the way.
