Kaiya watched the large sand creature form, blue eyes wide with both awe and hints of uncertainty. The Lady Hokage had spoke nothing of a battle this grand in scale; she could only assume something went wrong in the woman's meeting with the Kazekage, and now....
Now it seemed war was upon them.
Their orders had been to pull out after the initial blast, but Nariko never showed up so that the two of them could use the warp tag thing that the Hokage had given them to get back to the meeting point where Tetsuya was waiting. If her teammate didn't show up soon... well, she wouldn't leave without her. She'd just have to stay and try to help the Hokage with more than just the technique she'd lent to the woman's scrolls. The vines at her feet and twisted about one of her ankles twitched, and she looked around from her perch; one of the people she'd spotted evacuating the citizens while she was planting the explosives around the village...
Odd, is that a Leaf headband....?
Of course, that missing nin boy. What was his name....? He was in that tournament.... Asoi...? That seemed right. The one who went skipping off with the little Sand tramp in the tight clothes. Seemed odd for him to be wandering about, but when opportunity calls...

The last of them finally evacuated, Abe took a moment to gather himself, and shelter himself at the same time from the various explosions and attacks going on. He knew that the Kages were powerful, but this just seemed ridiculous. More like something out of a legend or a novel than a real battle.
I wonder how that fight is going...the rest of us hardly seem significant against those two... He sighed, ruffling his hair as he gazed around, trying to plot his own route back to finding Kara and the others. They'd be a lot better off banding together, but with everyone scattered and so much destruction, it'd be hard to find them. He could already tell that other fights were breaking out; of course, it wasn't like the Hokage would just waltz in without backup.
"Tch. Still pretty sore from the other day..." He grumbled. A handful of bandages were visible on him; overall, he was well enough, but he certainly didn't want to push his luck.

thunk
The slender senbon pierced into his back with little warning and what would be felt as a curious absence of pain. A young woman not much smaller than him stay low on the roof above and behind, several more of the needles dangling from her fingertips.
"You're the one who abandoned our village, aren't you? What's your name...?" Her voice was cool and calm, speaking more out of idle curiosity than anything. It was always sad to see strong young men like this go bad and waste away; her father'd always taught her better than to get too involved with that kind.

"Abe." He replied shortly, rubbing the back of his neck tenderly. Man, that one had been close...what a mean woman.
He frowned, unaffected by a second thunk, this time from the sound of a log hitting the ground where his body had been previously, a needle protruding from it. He signed heavily, shaking his head. Really, just no luck at all these days.
"Kind of a misunderstanding though, yeah? It'd be nice if we could just talk it out before you throw things at me?" He grinned sheepishly at the woman, whom he only vaguely recognized from his time in the village. If he recalled right, she belonged to one of their more renowned families. A fact that only made it seem more unlikely that they'd see eye to eye.

"A misunderstanding that you've run off with a spy who's most likely slithered her way into your heart and pants like a garden snake?" She replied quietly, tilting her head in his direction to look at him from her mess of bangs. "Unlikely."
With that, her body suddenly burst into a large, blue-green cloud that enveloped him and the whole rooftop they were situated on.
"...I dislike assuming things about people... but I really don't like disloyal men. Especially one who would abandon his comrades for a land as forsaken as this." Her voice carried through the fog, seeming to carry about over the sound of the flames and epic battle going on in the background.

Abe grunted a bit, disappointed, but not particularly surprised at the outcome. Seems like he just had not choice but to hold his breath and...
His body seemed to get sucked into the ground like water down the drain, vanishing amidst the rubble for a moment before bursting out a distance away, trying to space himself from the fog. It seemed to be spreading, but if it wore thinner he'd be in better shape. At least, he hoped so.
He formed a quick handseal, leaning back before spewing a wave of mud in front of him that quickly gathered around him before shooting upward into a large, flat wall that carried him into the air.

"Plants flourish in rich, wet soil, you know." The young woman cast a handful of seeds onto the platform as it rose past the building. The things burrowed into the slab as though they had a life of their own and before one could even blink, vines and barbs were creeping up the boy's legs at a phenomenal rate, grabbing and prickling as they made their way up and around his torso, unleashing small doses of poison with every thorn. "And the plants hold more sway over the earth than the earth over they. Roots and vines are very powerful creatures."
She watched them fondly, the poisonous fog at her back and feet.

Abe's face was distressed, but curiously lifeless as it slowly turned brown, melting away into mud, dripping over the plants and down the mud wall. Popping up from the debris shortly behind the wall, Abe let loose one of his famous punches, sending a shock wave that burst the mud wall, spraying hardened debris and the woman's own plants at her, amidst the strong wind.
Damn. I can't play cat and mouse with her forever...These tactical types aren't good for my health.

Foliage whipped up around the girl, sinking down into the ground and taking her with them. There was a long moment of silence and calm, making it seem as though perhaps she'd fled...
Then plant life burst from the ragged earth, consuming what few buildings were left and carpeting the ground in all sorts of grasses, bushes and vines, all growing at an unnatural rate that left about three blocks of the ruined village nothing short of a small jungle. Flowers bloomed all around the boy, all violently bright colors, their barbs all dangerously close. Vines grew up atop on of the vegetation-shaded buildings in a large bulb that parted, allowing Kaiya to lite upon the edge of the building.
"....I prefer not to kill. But you constantly running and attempting such basic tricks is leaving me little alternative." She stuck out her tongue some, seeming to be thinking.

Abe stuck his tongue out back, ruffling his hair again as he ran through some thoughts himself. What a pain....
"You say that, but you're being a lot more aggressive than me, ya' know?" He shook his head, sizing up his surroundings. She was definitely skilled to work her abilities in spite of the terrain. Running wouldn't work for long, and leap frogging it would be risky as well. He'd just have to find a way to plow through the dangerous vegetation...

"Out of a strange sort of fear, I suppose. You're rumored to have been the strongest man in the village, so I don't intend to give you an opening in which to overcome me physically. Though..." She shifted, some, raising a brow. "You have yet to impress upon me as little more than a musclehead relying on that strength of yours; you have yet to be able to overcome a little grass. Perhaps a stroll through my garden will change your tactics."
Foliage shuddered around him, springing to life in a burst of growth that concealed even the smoke-ruined sky, blocking out all noise from the outside and leaving the young man in a labyrinth of plant life that seemed to be slithering about here and there.

Abe sighed, cursing his luck more and more. Could they have picked a worse person for him to fight? He highly doubted it. =P
"I'm not too impressed with people who stand back and watch." He muttered in halfhearted retort. He really had a mess on his hands now...
He steadied himself, stance defensive as he kept a close eye on the plant movement. He'd have to feel out its abilities for now if he wanted to find a way out.

There would be no time for anything like that since as soon as any view of the outside world was blocked out, the flowers started belching out some type of noxious gas, quickly filling the area; the boy would find it hard to leave, what with those vines already creepying up his feet.

Abe had already seen it coming, his feet sliding outward sharply, a large amount of chakra being focused into them. He whipped himself around, sweeping the ground and kicking up a large amount of jagged earth, tearing the plants apart in the process. From there, he followed through with a massive uppercut, angled in the general direction of the woman, through the jungle she had brought forth. Amidst the high wind, an assortment of shattered earth and plant life was hurtled forward, the force of the air dragging the poison cloud along with it, granting him some space and time from it creeping upon him.

Poison sprayed every which way from the severed foliage, the injured plants drawing back for newer ones to charge forward, aiming at trappng the man in place with their poisonous barbs and gasses. Several of the thicker vines whipped themselves around his arms, holding him for the one moment the girl needed--
THWUNK
The blunt end of her polearm made solid contact with the side of his head, sending him flying into a brush of thorns and rose up and wrapped themselves around him as well.
