Character Background
Family History: Karasu's father, Yukio Ketsueki, was a shinobi of Yugagakure up until talk of a transition from being a hidden village started to escalate more. Being a very adventurous, thrill-seeking man, this didn't bode well with him, and he left the village to settle elsewhere. After a couple years of wandering and aiding in several villages, he decided that Sunagakure was the change he needed and settled there. Being a rather good-looking guy, and a foreign guy at that, he attracted alot of female attention. Eventually, he met a female member of a dance troupe passing through the town by the name of Kazumi Obata. The two fell in love at once and Kazumi decided to stay in the village with him.
Not long after, the two were married. They lived a very lively life, both tending to toe the adventurous side of life, often going out exploring and on trips to other villages when Ayasuri wasn't on duty. Neither really wished to have a family since neither really felt they were suited for children.
About 2 years after thier marriage, Keiroko announced that she was pregnant. The two decided to keep the child, finding it as the only responsible thing to do.
Soon after, their only baby girl was born, and they immediately fell in love with the girl. They spoiled Karasu entirely. Often during the child's younger years, however, the two argued over the child's future, though it never got too bad.
Yukio Ketsueki is the parent from whom the kekkei genkai was passed down.
Kazumi isn't a ninja at all, but a dancer.
Personal History: Born in Suna, Karasu was completely spoiled by her parents. She was raised as most other children of shinobi, learning basic ninja techniques and, unlike other children, the art of dance. Her mother didn't approve of female ninja at all, but her father thought is was a very respectable line of work; eventually they agreed that their daughter deserved a taste of both and would decide for herself when the time came; so from the age of 5, Karasu's training alternated between that of desert-style dance and basic fighting technique and jutsu.
At the age of 10, on the very day Karasu was to enter the Suna academy, the village recieved word of the war breaking out in Konoha that was quickly spreading. Her parents pulled her from the academy immediately, both scared that if she progressed at all she'd be sent out to fight in the war if it escalated anymore. In addition, her father refused to leave his wife and daughter alone, knowing that neither were skilled enough to defend themselves, should the village be stormed. Both her parents decided upon a plan of action, and exactly a week later when news of the spreading war heading toward Suna reached, the entire family fled the village to the southeast border of the Wind Country.
For the next 5 years of Karasu's life, the girl lived peacefully by the coast with her family where her father ran a small dojo teaching some of the local children how to fight and her mother continued to teach Karasu dancing and small skills (such as sewing, basic first aid, man-hunting, ect.), progressing even further in both her fighting abilities and her dancing. By her 15th birthday, she'd mastered her kekkei genkai and was already developing her own style of fighting. Much to her mother's delight, she'd often perform at the nearby village for a bit of revenue. Bother her parents were expecting her to choose her lifestyle at this point, but the girl seemed oblivious to this, quite enjoying herself in both fields of interest.
Near the close of the war, a small band of rogue ninja entered the village demanding money and valuables. When the villagers did not comply, the group threatened to kill several of the children that attended Ayasuri's dojo that they had hostage. Karasu was nearby at that time, and managed to wile her way close enough to men for a fight to break out and the children to escape. In less than five minutes, the girl had managed to kill them all, a feat to which her mother had to concede the power of the girl as a ninja.
Once news of the war's end reached them, Karasu immediately wanted to go back to Sunagakure. Her mother adamantly refused to return to the village, and her father felt he'd done his duty to the village by teaching her and wished to stay with his little dojo. The girl, though disappointed that she wouldn't see her family nearly as much, agreed and set off for the village on her own, eager to finally be on her own for once in her life.
Karasu arrived at the village and explained her story, producing her father's headband and ID card as proof. She was processed through their post-war system of security before finally being able to test for shinobi ranking, where she was deemed a chuunin and placed into a squad that had lost a member during the war.
She tested at the first post-war jounin exams and passed (whether it's because of her skill or the lax nature of a very badly organized event is unknown)
Additional Info/Notes:
Combat Info
Chakra affinity: Wind (primary), Water (secondary)
Kekkei-genkai Info: Blood Release-- the user is able to use blood (in most cases, their own) as a form of weaponry, cover, and jutsu attacks. In the case of the Ketsueki family, it taught to be activated through wounds, where the user makes their own body into a weapon by forming blades, needles, and other weapons as part of their body from the blood. With further training and chakra usage, other feats of pwnage can be accomplished as well.
User's biological functions are slightly evolved to accommodate the ability, such as high production of blood cells as a reaction to heightened adrenaline, filtering proteins in the blood, and the body's required amount of blood for functioning being much lower than that of a normal person. A user's heart will actually beat slower during use to minimize the body's use of blood as well; because of this, there have often been mistakes in which a user who's passed out from blood loss will be labeled as dead, when they really weren't.
Regulary Equipment/Weaponry:
> A 10-foot long dancer's scarf made out of some sort extremely resilient material that's cut- and tear-resistant; has four heavy metal rings at each end for laying the smack against someones face.
> Small amounts of kunai, shuriken, trap wire and explosive tags
> Basic medical kit
Scrolls: Blood-summoning contract- does exactly what the name suggests and unseals the massive amounts of blood held within the contract; weapon scroll for dual scimitars (a gift from her parents upon promotion to jounin)
Summons: n/a
Specialty: taijutsu
Karasu has combined both her schoolings in fighting and dance to create a rather unusual form of combat. Utilizing both the power of her lightning fast reflexes and reversal fighting & the immaculate balance and flexibility of desert-style dance, she glides across the battlefield. Her scarf is used to better conceal her movements, as well as for a weapon (can be used to trip, bind and strangle enemies). Her style can be distinctly recognized for its many jumping, flipping, and spinning moves, as well the the unusual flourish of her performing side, much like copoeira

Blood Works--Silken Bullet
Kekkei Genkai: Uses blood to form projectile weapons that can be manipulated about at will; requires more chakra and concentration to keep up, so the blood will usually hang around the user until it's needed.
Blood Works--Succubus
Kekkei Genkai: absorbs blood in the vicinity for personal use; blood can only be drawn from open wounds, puddles, ect (not torn out of the body violently, though that would be cool) and cannot replace lost internal blood.
Blood Works--Sector
Kekkei Genkai: by combining Blood and Wind Release, the user is able to create small 'explosions', whether it be around themselves (forming a nice, temporary shield) or on weapons (try stabbing someone with a kunai then exploding it; great fun).
