Kokoro was pleased to see the arrival of aid, but nothing could stop his charge at this point. He couldn't risk leaving even a moment open for them to escape. Not after having come this far...
He rushed forward, a fresh set of strings from one hand harnessing the debris the Raikage had created, throwing a flurry of shattered rocks at and around the Hokage, hoping to at least continue to slow her down and divert her attention. He didn't have much to stage a full attack from afar, so he would have to settle this hand to hand, if necessary...

Aya barely had a second to draw another scroll from her person when the little blind kunoichi stepped forward again; wind kicked up at impossible speeds sending the stone and sand flying about the group in a large funnel, not only deflecting the attack, but now using it to protect them from any further assault. The Hokage slouched back, finally able to catch her breath as the group stared out of the swirling shield that separated them from the other now-forming group.
"..."
JG moved back to block off the group of remaining Sand ninja that had just arrived, choosing not to act since she wasn't entirely sure of what exactly was going on here. From that death stare the Lady Hokage was giving them and the carnage they had just witnessed, she could only assume it wasn't anything good...

Kokoro growled, staring through the shield at that woman with murderous eyes, cursing her and every one of shinobi. Was there really nothing he could do to stop her from escaping? Damn her, damn her, damn, damn, DAMN!!
His eyes narrowed, sandy contents roaring silently in their spherical cage. He would hunt her down to the ends of the earth if necessary. She would not get away with this...

She stared back for a long moment, eyes unreadably sad before she closed them and sighed, gesturing the ninja into the awaiting warp seal that would take them back to their own safe village; the group moved away one by one, undeterred by the stares of their assailants on the other side of the dwindling shield. Nariko moved away with her male counterpart, disappearing from sight with their hostage.
The wind started to die down as Aya made her way into the seal, sparing one last glance back at the other two kages; a dark, almost inhuman smirk spread across her bloodstained face, lingering under brightly gleaming eyes even as her form distorted, disappearing from sight entirely. The makeshift shield fell apart, scattering stone and sand around the seal, which suddenly burst into flame, cutting off any chance of pursuit for the Kazekage and his back up. Well enough for Aya; she had so much to do now. Seals to set up to keep them out of her village long enough to finish preparations and gathering the loose bijuu for the machine... so much to do.

Kokoro watched the woman and team vanish into the wind, biting his lip in repressed anger. She may have gotten away this time, but he would get her. They couldn't waste anytime from here; he would have to regroup and prepare for the next assault. The hounds of war had been freed, and nothing would sate them til their blood had drenched the earth completely...
Listlessly, Kokoro wobbled to and fro, regaining himself amidst a flurry of emotions and fatigue. Slowly, he turned his tired eyes onto the Raikage, though he could find no particular words for the woman now. Undoubtedly she was aware that her village had just become involved in a war comparable to the Great Wars past...

JG stared back at him for a moment, eyes conflicted between the usual calculated planning for the future and sympathy for the man before her. She wasn't sure what she could say when everything was so plainly obvious at the moment. The village in shambles behind them, the injured shinobi now gathering around their leader in a worried frenzy; his eyes had probably taken this all in and dismissed it for the moment. There was something darker here at the moment.
"Kazekage-sama..." She trailed off and looked away, not sure what to say.

Kokoro raised his tired eyes in thought, feeling his body sinking slowly with fatigue. As much as his heart burned with the desire to give chase, he knew there was nothing that could be done for the time being. There was too much damage, and too much exhaustion all around to drag the battle out further. They would have to regroup...
"I'm sorry that you've been dragged into this, Jia-tan. But...its no longer only a problem between Suna and Konoha. The winds of of war are howling..."

"That's all too obvious now...." she muttered, moving forward to support the man. "There are preparations to be made, but for now it's best to use the time we have left to take care of yourself and your village. Regroup and account for the damage."
She looked back toward the burning remnants of the town, grimacing for a short moment until Ryuu caught her eye; she beckoned the man forth to help with the Kazekage, and was immediately swarmed by several of the other Suna shinobi who seemed to have been waiting for any chance to help their leader.

Kokoro hobbled weakly, giving a short wave to the swarm of people. "Thank you, but I can manage. I need everyone to fan out and ensure that Konoha doesn't still have shinobi in the area. A few of you...head to the underground shelters and make sure that they're safe."
The Suna-nin each gave their assortment of responses, taking off in a flurry. His mind raced with too many worries to count. Ryuu caught him as he staggered, granting him a shoulder to lean on.
He could only hope that everyone had made it alright...
